MedEntry's 2023 Charity Partners

MedEntry's 2023 Charity Partners

11 months ago by Chris

There’s a saying that, ‘Deeds of giving are the very foundations of the world’. MedEntry has a commitment to deeds of giving to disadvantaged groups, with a focus on health and education.  Every year, the MedEntry Foundation partners with a different charity organisation in each country in which we operate, to help support their vital work.

MedEntry is proud to have been associated with some of the world’s most respected not-for-profit organisations. In total, we’ve donated over €150,000 to various charities, helping them to carry out their vital work.

Past MedEntry Charity Partners

Past MedEntry charity partners include:

  • Médecins Sans Frontières: which is an organization that provides medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare.
  • The International Medical Corps: which relieves the suffering of those affected by conflict, disaster and disease, often in difficult and dangerous environments.
  • Save the Children: which aims to work in homes, nurseries, schools and communities to narrow the gap between children living in poverty and their better off counterparts.
  • The UNHCR: which works with authorities, UN agencies, displaced community groups and partners to provide desperately needed humanitarian assistance.
  • Red Cross: which helps people find shelter, support, and their loved ones.
  • Royal Flying Doctor Service: which provides vital 24/7 aeromedical retrieval services across rural and remote regions.
  • The Fred Hollows Foundation: which focuses on treating and preventing blindness and other vision problems.
  • The World Health Organization: which is responsible for international public health, including supporting countries to prevent, detect, and respond to the pandemic.
  • Books For Africa: which collects, sorts, and ships books, computers, tablets, and library enhancement materials to every country in Africa.
  • The Make-A-Wish Foundation: which helps fulfill the wishes of children with a critical illness.
  • UNICEF: which provides humanitarian and developmental aid to children worldwide.
  • The National Emergencies Trust: which, within hours of a national emergency, launches an appeal to raise funds for survivors and their loved ones.
  • The Teenage Cancer Trust: which is a cancer care and support charity that exists to improve the cancer experience of young people aged 13–24.
  • The Community Foundation: which works with individuals, families, corporates, as well as Government to make giving strategic, sustainable and impactful.
  • Our Lady’s Hospital Crumlin: which is a large paediatric hospital treating critically unwell children across the country.

2023 Charity Partners

MedEntry will continue to support disadvantaged groups and communities in 2023 by offering students the opportunity to support the following charities:

  • Ireland: Pieta house, which supports people and communities in crisis by providing freely accessible, professional counselling services to those in need.
  • UK: the British Heart Foundation, which funds research into heart and circulatory diseases, including stroke, vascular dementia and diabetes, with the vision of a world without heartbreak.
  • Australia: the Cancer Council, which is a charity that supports those affected by cancer, promotes cancer awareness and finds new ways to better detect and treat cancer, with a vision of a cancer free future.
  • New Zealand: Youthline, which is a 'with youth, for youth' organisation that supports young people, with a free Helpline service, counselling, mentoring and programs in schools.

How you can help

MedEntry raises funds to support our charity partners by partnering with our students. Upon enrolment, students have the opportunity to make a donation.  Each student donation is matched by MedEntry, euro for euro.

MedEntry would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our wonderful students who have donated to charities over the past 20 years. May these deeds of giving continue to be the very foundations of the world.
